So I don’t really get the situation with pennies in Panama, but it’s worth noting that:

  1. I was told there’s a shortage of pennies in Panama. I only heard this from one person, so don’t take my word for it.
  2. As I mentioned in another post, some places steal your pennies. They don’t give you the change back in the form of pennies & instead of giving you a nickel, they just don’t give you the money.
  3. I pick up pennies almost every time I’m out & about walking around Panama. I wish they were more than pennies & the odd time I get a dime, once I got a quarter, but I’ve never seen so many pennies being dropped on the ground & it’s not just in Panama city, but also in Arrajuan.

G o figure. I have no idea what that’s all about.
