While not all Panamanians are rude, here are examples of what we won’t see back home:

  1. One night the Union Fanoza (that’s Panama’s electric company) guy came by the house at 11:30 pm at night. Who the hell comes by at that hour to fix your electricity problems & trust me, Union Fanoza has a LOT.Anyway, I stand up from my desk & look outside & he’s talking with me through the window, but of course I can’t speak Spanish, so after he starts raising his voice & talking VERY LOUDLY waking people up, I tell him, “Shhh, people are sleeping.”

He gets angry & storms off refusing to fix anything.

Of course that’s an example for my “immature” post, but he sees nothing wrong with raising his voice in the middle of the night while people are sleeping.

  2. Panamanians get up very early in theĀ  morning. They can be up & out of their house by 4-5 am.While most are okay, every once in a while get some idiot who guns his engine & screeches out of the complex.

Again, this is considered normal disrespectful Panamanian behavior. People are sleeping & he or she doesn’t give a shit.

  3. Tonight around 1:30 am a truck (sounded like a truck) from afar blasted his horn several times.

Unfortunately this is also common. They are too lazy to get out of the car, so they use the horn as the doorbell.
